Loreena McKennitt The Visit Revisited Tour
More about this eventIt's been 10 years since Loreena McKennitt performed in Canada's prairie provinces, but she's heading back this fall. She'll be wrapping up her 27- city The Visit Revisited Tour with November shows in Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Edmonton and Calgary.
Loreena’s fall anniversary tour kicks off Oct. 11th in Portland, Maine followed by performances in 22 other American cities. All performances will include every song on The Visit (in the order they appear on the album), as well as other fan favourites from across her catalogue. Accompanying her on tour will be long-time musical companions Brian Hughes on guitar, Caroline Lavelle on cello, Hugh Marsh on violin and Dudley Phillips on bass.
The Visit Revisited Tour commemorates the 32nd anniversary of her lifealtering, Juno Award-winning album, The Visit. The album was released in Canada in 1991 and internationally in 1992 as she entered into a partnership with major international record company, Warner Music Group. The Visit was the recording that propelled Loreena onto the world stage, where she has comfortably remained ever since.
“I was born and raised in Manitoba and in many ways I’m a prairie girl at heart,” says the artist, who earlier this month was inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame. “It’s also where I first performed at the start of my career and I can honestly say it will feel a bit like a homecoming. It’s been far too long and I’m so looking forward to being back in that part of Canada.”
