July at the Jubilee – A Time of Renewal Following Tony Bennett’s performance on July 2, the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium will be taking its annual summer break for maintenance. Meanwhile, it’s a chance to reflect on the huge variety of talent we hosted at the Jubilee over the past season. From Canadian folk icon Bruce Cockburn to the Live Lawrence Welk Show; from The Phantom, Aladdin – The Family Musical and The Producers; to Emmylou Harris and The Beach Boys; and with highly successful world premieres from our resident companies – Calgary Opera’s “Frobisher” and Alberta Ballet’s full-length ballet collaboration with music star Joni Mitchell, “Dancing Joni” – it was surely a year for the record books! |
