Alcove Gallery hosts Meta Incognita
On your next visit to the Jubilee Auditorium, take the time to
explore a new visual art exhibition created by the fibre arts collective Articulation. Meta
Incognita (“limits unknown”) comprises seventy
pieces of fibre art – all inspired by the opera Frobisher.
The eleven fibre artists in Articulation studied together
between 2000 and 2004 during the first Canadian offering of the
City & Guilds of London, England course in Design & Embroidery. Meta
Incognita is their sixth group show, which examines the
historical world of Martin Frobisher, contemporary arctic geography
and themes of Inuit culture.
Explore Meta Incognita in the Alcove Gallery
and in the Hallway Gallery located in the lower lobby of the Southern
Alberta Jubilee Auditorium. The exhibition is available for viewing
during performances until April 4, 2007, or by appointment directly
with the artists. Please contact Donna Clement at (403) 289-4476
or email donna@donnaclement.com or Lesley Turner at (403) 289-3239
or email lesley@shaw.ca.
