Canadian icon, Anne Murray, in celebration of four decades
of her illustrious career, will tour Canada, "COAST TO
COAST - ONE LAST TIME" in the spring of 2008!
The tour will begin in Moncton, New Brunswick in April and
end in Victoria, British Columbia in May.
Canada’s love affair with Murray began in the late 60’s but
it was the 1970 release of "Snowbird" that propelled her to
international stardom. Recognized world wide as one of our
country’s most enduring national treasures, Murray’s
signature voice has graced the airwaves on pop, country and
adult contemporary radio.
A consummate entertainer, Anne’s quick wit and easy sense
of humour find their place on stage alongside a string of
hits such as "A Little Good News," "Love Song," "Could I
Have This Dance," "Danny’s Song" and of course, "You
Needed Me." Recognized with 4 Grammy Awards, 3 American
Music Awards, 3 Country Music Association Awards and more
than 24 Junos, Anne still holds the record for the most
Junos awarded to an artist. Murray has been inducted into
the Juno Hall of Fame, has a star at Hollywood and Vine on
Hollywood’s Walk of Fame and is on Nashville and Canada’s
Walkway of Stars. She is also a Companion of the Order of
Canada, the highest honour that can be awarded to a
Canadian citizen.
Anne’s songs have inspired millions and have stood the test
of time. Possessing one of the most unique voices in the
world, Anne’s musical legacy continues with a duets album
of these time honoured classics.
Her recently released CD, Anne Murray Duets: Friends &
Legends, debuted at #4 of the Top 200 Soundscan Chart in
Canada, her highest debut in over twenty years. The CD is
Anne’s 35th studio album and pairs her with some of her
favourite ladies of song, including Carole King, Celine
Dion, Shania Twain, Martina McBride, Nelly Furtado, the
late great Dusty Springfield, and her daughter Dawn
Langstroth.
Anne remains one of the most consistent and enduring live
performers of our time - a singer’s, singer. This tour
encompasses a lifetime of music and memories - an
opportunity to share in the magic that is simply, Anne.
