Reduced parking at the Jubilee Auditorium

Attention Jubilee Auditorium parking lot users

Construction of the Edmonton Clinic and construction of a new car park are underway.

To accommodate both construction projects, the number of parking spots at the Jubilee Auditorium will be further reduced to 200 until the new car park is completed in late fall 2008.

How does this affect me?

  • Alternate parking locations will be available at nearby University of Alberta lots during construction.
  • The existing number of handicapped spaces in the Jubilee parking lot will be maintained. Drop-offs at the north doors will continue. The southeast doors will remain open, but drop-offs at those doors will be limited to DATS vehicles.
  • The north-south accesses and the 114 Street access will remain in place during the construction of the car park and the Clinic.
  • Long term, there will be no change in the number of parking spaces as a result of the construction of the car park or the Edmonton Clinic.
  • The new car park will be available for use by Jubilee patrons, who will have priority parking access for all performances.

What do I do?

  • Arrive 30 minutes earlier than usual.
  • Priority parking for Jubilee patrons is available at Varsity Field, Education and Stadium car parks. Cost is $4.
  • Parking passes will be honoured at these lots.
  • Additional parking is available at the U of A Hospital underground car park (no priority for Jubilee patrons). Jubilee patrons will be asked to show their ticket stub to receive the $4 rate.
  • Shuttle service will be provided to and from the Stadium car park for all performances.
  • Consider alternatives such as taking a taxi, sharing a ride, arranging for drop-off/pick-up or taking public transit (www.takeets.com or call 780-496-1611).

PARKING INFORMATION

Jubilee Auditorium Lot

  • Location: 114 Street and 87 Avenue
    Number of parking spaces: 880
  • 3 entrances:
    • 114 Street south of 87 Avenue
    • 87 Avenue — west edges of the building (2 entrances)
  • Monthly University Permit Holder Express Lane: South entrance
    (Access off 87 or 83 Avenue)
    • Available for faculty/staff/student/visitor parking
  • Our parking lot is managed by the University of Alberta Parking Services.

Event Parking:

When there is an event at the Jubilee, a special show rate is available.

  • Show parking: $4/performance

Regular Parking:

At all other times, parking is available at the following rates, set by the University:

  • Day parking, Monday to Friday: 6:45 AM to 4:30 PM
    • $1.25 each 1/2 hour or less (Daily Maximum: $10)
    • Valid only until 6 PM
  • Evening parking: 4:30 PM to 12 AM
    • $1.25 each 1/2 hour or less (Maximum: $4)
  • Overnight parking: 12 AM to 6:45 AM
    • $1.25 each 1/2 hour or less (Maximum: $4)
  • Saturday, Sunday and Statutory Holidays:
    • $1.25 each 1/2 hour or less (Maximum: $4)
