It has been a grand year of celebration. Thank you to everyone who submitted stories — take time, if you haven’t already, to read what has been shared on our website. Your memories are funny, warm, and nostalgic.

It has been wonderful, sharing 50 years with Albertans. Here at the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium, we are looking forward to the next 50.

Speaking of looking forward — this summer sees the Auditorium receive further improvements.

Those washrooms you asked for? They are on the way. Construction on the restroom additions began in April. Renovations to the existing restrooms will begin when the new restrooms are complete and operational. The new restrooms and the renovations will almost double the current main floor washroom capacity.

Also on the way are a new stage floor and the completion of the parking structure. A short shutdown of the facility will be required this summer to accommodate the stage floor replacement. Currently booked performances will not be affected. It is our hope that these improvements will address some of the concerns we have heard from you over the past few years.

The 2008 – 2009 Season

Our resident companies have announced their new seasons, and Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium patrons have some great performances to look forward to.

Edmonton Opera 2008 – 2009 Season
Fall In Love with Opera

Edmonton Opera will spend this year exploring love — its pain, its whimsy and its glory.

The season opens with Wagner’s classic masterpiece The Flying Dutchman on October 25, 28, 30, 2008.

The rest of the season unfolds like this: Donizetti's Daughter of the Regiment February 7, 10, 12, 2009 Verdi’s La Traviata April 25, 28, 30, 2009 Bizet’s The Pearl Fishers This is a special production being performed at the Winspear Centre March 12, 14, 2009
