The Jubilee Auditorium Staff Gives Back

This building is busy. It takes a staff of approximately 30 full time and 80 part time people to put together all of those evenings of entertainment — and this doesn’t even count the performers!

The diversity of this group is remarkable — but there are two things that unite them — dedication to this facility and our patrons and a commitment to the community at large. These are individuals who work tirelessly; not only here, but also for the larger Edmonton community.

If you look, you will find that the support lent to the arts community of Edmonton reaches far beyond this structure’s walls. One member of our team sits on the board of Events Edmonton, another Chairs the Downtown Farmers' Market Association and a third sits on the Fringe Theatre Adventures board.

The dedication to enhancing arts organizations in our city goes beyond the success of the Auditorium. On our front of house team is a member of the Yardbird Suite’s volunteer team and an individual who is one of the organizers of the Butterdome Craft Fair.

A commitment to arts in the city as a whole informs not just how they spend their days, but how they spend their leisure time as well.

Edmonton’s arts community is not the only area of interest. On our backstage team there is a gentleman who takes a group of teenagers to Mexico every year to build homes for people in under-resourced areas. He volunteers two weeks of his time and supervises these teens while they build housing in poor communities.

One of our Front of House supervisors regularly makes holiday dinners for families in her church who might otherwise go hungry. We count Sunday school teachers, sports coaches and classroom volunteers among our team as well.

When you order your coffee or ask for help to your seats remember, the person smiling at you is likely to be someone with a cause close to his or her heart.

June at the Jubilee Auditorium means Dance Recitals, Graduations and Convocations. If you come to see a loved one on our stage, be sure to visit our concessions while you are here.

As always, you can purchase fresh coffee or an espresso drink and a variety of snacks. Starting in June, especially for summer, you can get frozen fruit drinks! Also, when it is particularly warm, Häagen Dazs® ice cream bars are on hand.

Our Coffee Bar staff is ready with a smile and just what you need to make your visit perfect.
