SPAMALOT!
Performances July 29 — August 3

Contribution by Stephanie Enders, Bottom Line Productions
Winner of the 2005 Tony Award for Best Musical, Monty Python’s Spamalot is the outrageous new musical comedy lovingly ripped off from the film classic “Monty Python and the Holy Grail.”
Directed by Tony Award winner Mike Nichols, with a book by Eric Idle and music and lyrics by the Grammy Award-winning team of Mr. Idle and John Du Prez, Spamalot tells the tale of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table as they embark on their quest for the Holy Grail. Flying cows, killer rabbits, taunting Frenchmen and show-stopping musical numbers are just a few of the reasons audiences everywhere are eating up Spamalot.
Spamalot FUN FACTS:
- Among the props is a cow that weighs 45 pounds and it takes two stagehands to catapult it over the castle.
- The poorest peasants’ costumes in the show are actually made of raw silk.
- There are over 100 undergarments in the show, including
30 pairs of men’s fishnets and 56 codpieces.

PLAY weekend cancelled —
Music Showcase a GO! |
|
We have decided to delay our PLAY weekend until a later date. However, we are going forward with the Music Showcase on Saturday, July 5, 2008.
Eight local acts will perform on our stage. These are musicians who are new to Edmonton’s performance circuit — the experience of performing in front of a live audience on the Jubilee Auditorium Stage will be fantastic for them.
The Music Showcase will be heard by a panel of professionals. They will provide professional feedback; comments and suggestions that will help these performers reach their goals.
The Music Showcase will take place on Saturday, July 5, 2008 beginning at 11 AM. This is a FREE event, open to the public.
Construction Update
If you have visited the building any time during April or May, you have seen the ongoing construction all around us! We are in the midst of adding new washrooms to the Main Floor, building a parking structure, and the Edmonton Clinic construction has begun as well!

Please give yourself extra time — we are recommending 30 minutes — to accommodate the changes to our parking lot.

Great shows coming this summer!
From August 4 — September 21, 2008 the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium will be closed for the installation of our NEW STAGE FLOOR!!!
Visit www.jubileeauditorium.com/southern for great shows in Calgary!
And visit us in September. We reopen with shows on September 23, 24, 2008 — The Royal Winnipeg Ballet presents Peter Pan!
