The Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium announces
a Call for Submissions

for the Purpose of Displaying Art at the
Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium – Kaasa Lobby, lower level

Submission MUST include:

  • Proposed exhibition title
  • Artist name
  • Lender’s name (if different from artist)
  • Address, telephone, email
  • Requested exhibit dates
  • CD ROM with digital images of not more than 10 pieces for evaluation. If the Artist provides a self-addressed stamped envelope, this can be returned once the selection process is completed.
  • CURRICULUM VITAE (maximum 2 pages) summarizing relevant training, artistic accomplishments and public presentations of work.
  • ARTIST’S STATEMENT/BIOGRAPHY (maximum one page) including:
    • Description of work
    • Media used (any special techniques?)
    • Who and what are your artistic influences?
  • PRICE LIST — FOR INSURANCE PURPOSES ONLY. This exhibition will be to display the work, not an opportunity for sales.
  • Availability for involvement in the Jubilee Auditorium Community Engagement and Education Programs

Submissions are evaluated by a Jury Selection Committee chaired by the Community Engagement Coordinator of the Friends of the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium Society. The committee makes recommendations based on the quality of presentation of the application including all supporting documentation.

The Jury Selection Committee and the contents of proposals submitted to the Society remain confidential. The digital images chosen should represent the pieces being proposed for display in the building; though need not be limited to said pieces.

For artists submitting proposals, if your work is chosen, expect the Society to provide:

  • Appropriate wall mounting and/or display units.
  • Labels to include the piece title, the Artist’s name and the piece creation date — information to be provided by the Artist.
  • Insurance to cover art at a $30,000 value (not to include inherent vice).
This is an “add-on” to our existing coverage.
  • Security — a Commissionaire stationed at the North entrance daily 0730h – 2330h and around the clock at the Stage Door.
