Jube Classroom

Spend a day, a few days, or even a week at the Jube and give your students a wide range of inquiry-based learning experiences. The Jube's unique blend of artistic and technical resources can enhance both curriculum areas and personal development.

Here are just a few examples of the kinds of study and skill development your class could experience: The science of light; colour theory; creative writing; leadership; project planning and execution; teamwork; history; acoustics; eye and ear physiology; technical theatre; visual arts; music; drama – and many more!

Facility Tours are free, and for a small fee, we can include an exploration of our visual art collection, a backstage tour, hands-on art-making activities, or a technical theatre demonstration of our lighting and sound equipment.

BEYOND THE CLASSROOM CONFERENCE - The World is Your Classroom

‘Beyond the Classroom’ refers to an innovative approach to informal learning pioneered by Gillian Kydd and Don Harvie.  Intriguing and enriching sites (such as museums, fire halls, civic venues and nature preserves) welcome an entire class of children to use their site as a classroom for an entire week.  Students and teachers use this new ‘classroom’ to engage in learner-led, hands-on, inquiry-based learning and exploration through tours, journaling, and a host of creative activities.  This model makes the stuff students learn in textbooks come alive, and has an incredible power to inspire students and teachers!
